Hi! I'm Jake Cobovic! I'm a mechanical engineering undergrad at Binghamton University focused on thermodynamics and heat management. My long term goal is to work in spacecraft thermal protective systems, applying my existing experience in engineering design and thermal control to new challenges.
Currently, I'm applying my skills to real engineering problems via both professional experience and academic project teams. As an intern at WB Engineers+Consultants, I help design heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for critical facilities such as data centers and labs. Utilizing thermodynamic load calculations and duct pressure drop modeling, I make data-backed design choices to ensure a balance between redundancy and efficiency. As an engineer on the Binghamton University Rover Team, I apply my skills to a more traditional mechanical setting, designing components for our rover's environmental analysis suite. The team has allowed me to continue to sharpen my CAD skills while also gaining experience in design for manufacturing, real world testing of components, and integrating subsystems within a larger system.
Outside of engineering, I enjoy channeling my drive and attention to detail into personal creative ventures, like photography and playing bass.
