SITHS VR Project
Introduction to the Project
Project Photos
The SITHS VR Project is an ongoing student-involved project within Staten Island Technical High School's technology department and CAD program to create a 1:1 recreation of the school building within Revit. I served as a member of the team working on the project, using my multidisciplinary knowledge in both Blender and Revit to create RFA files of the furniture and objects around the school building.
My Work
Although there is still some work to be done on the project before we add in the furniture, I have been hard at work accurately recreating the various chairs, desks, and objects found around the school building. Using measurements, sketches, and reference photos, I am able to ensure the level of accuracy that is expected of the project.
Because I prefer to model in Blender rather than in Revit itself, I initially ran into some issues with converting my Blender files to Revit, since the programs share no compatibility and there was no information online regarding the process. So, utilizing my knowledge of Blender and the Autodesk suite, I discovered a method for converting the files outlined in the slideshow presentation to the left. My work on the project best exemplifies my abilities in Blender, 3DS Max, and Revit and my problem solving skills.
